An intellectualized application service provider （ASP） platform for networked＇ manufacturing is developed by using mobile agent technique. It has a five-layer architecture and workflow technique is used to coordinate the operations in the system. The resource layer is built by modules such that the system is extendable and truly distributed. Intelligent methods are developed in the management layer to manage the applications in application service and resource layers such that the resources in the entire system can be effectively used.
