关于理工科院校翻译选修课教学的思考

On Translation Teaching of Elective Courses in University of Technology

完整的大学英语教学应该包括大学英语翻译教学。目前,我国的高校,尤其是理工科院校的大学英语教学中却未对大学英语翻译教学引起足够的重视。开设翻译选修课可以部分地缓解理工科院校翻译教学需求的矛盾。文章介绍了大学英语翻译教学缺失的主客观原因,论述了理工科高校开设翻译选修课的必然性,最后提出了翻译选修课教学的对策。

The complete college English teaching should include translation teaching for all the non-English major students. However, nowadays the importance of translation teaching, especially in those universities of technology, is not recognized by the teachers and authorities. The alternative of elective courses can partly solve the problem. In the present paper, the author makes a brief introduction to the absence of translation teaching, illustrates the necessity of elective courses and finally points out the possible strategies taken.
