The PRC has attained great economic achievements over the past 60 years since its founding in 1949, and it is on the way to becoming one of the biggest economies in the world. During this historic period, especially since beginning the process of reform and opening up in 1978, the country＇s foreign trade has grown enormously and has played a vital role in its domestic development and the global market,though there were years of halts and setbacks between the late 1950s and the late 1970s.
