Conference Report:on the Conference of"The History of Contemporary Chinese Logic"

2009年9月19日至20日，由中山大学逻辑与认知研究所主办、贵州大学哲学系承办的“当代中国逻辑学史”学术研讨会在贵州大学召开，来自中山大学、中国社会科学院、中国人民大学、南开大学、南京大学、浙江大学、复旦大学、华南师范大学、西南大学、贵州大学等单位10多位专家学者参加了会议。本次会议主题是研讨《当代中国逻辑学史》著作的内容。

The academic conference on ＂The History of Contemporary Chinese Logic＂ was held in Guizhou University from September 19th to 20th in 2009. The topic of the conference is about the content of the book The History of Contemporary Chinese Logic, of which the editor in chief is Professor Shier Ju, who is head of the Institute of Logic and Cognition, the key research institute of humanities and social sciences supported by the Ministry of Education in China. The conference was very successful. Relevant issues were fully discussed. The History of Contemporary Chinese Logic, which is to be published by Social Sciences Publishing House, is one of the series of The History of Contemporary Chinese Academic （32 volumes）. This book focuses on the achievements made by Chinese scholars from 1949 to 2009 in the research and development of informal logic, mathematical logic, philosophical logic, philosophy of logic and language, inductive logic, history of western logic, history of Chinese logic, Chinese Buddhist logic and Tibetan Pramanasamuccaya. It will be a significant and epoch-making work in academic history, which is expected to reflect the level of overall academics of Chinese logic. Top experts of logic in China will be invited to participate in the edition of the book. The book not only focuses on the contribution of scholars in the fields of logic in China in different times, but also lays emphasis on the hot topics and highlights of research done by Chinese scholars, especially achievements made by Chinese scholars that have attained to international advanced level. The book will encompass important events in international communication and people having important influence on the development of logic in China. Duly combining historical survey with critical assessments, the book most effectively avoids various prejudices, respects facts and makes just and discreet introduction to the 60-year achievements in logic in China. In addition, the book also introduces the uniqueness of Chinese logic that represents the characteristics of Chinese culture.
