Principles of translation constitute the Yardstick for measuring a piece of translated work. The common principle applied in translation can be summarized in the Yan Fu＇ s great ideas ： faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance. This paper aims to analyze the different argument about translation principles , through analyzing the controversy of the whole history in the translation development , translators should have correct attitude toward the translation.
