Women's Voice——A Female Perspective Analysis of Catin the Rain

《雨中的猫》是海明威的著名短篇小说。作者通过一系列的象征和隐喻表现出了女性在男性霸权下地位的从属和话语的剥夺。女主人公试图通过对小猫的挽救完成对自我的救赎,然而,女性言说的声音还是不能冲出强大的男权制的藩篱,随着救猫的失败,女主人公心中刚刚燃起的女性意识之火渐渐熄灭。

Cat in the Rain is a famous short story of Hemingway. The author reflects female＇s affiliated status and deprivation of discourse in the male-dominated culture through a series of symbols and metaphors. The heroine intends to accomplish self-salvation by saving the small cat; however, the voice of women can not stride over strong fence with male-dominated culture. With the failure of saving the small cat, the heroine＇s newly-kindled flame of female-consciousness is gradually dimmed.
