A Tentative Study on Anti-male Sexist Language in English

语言是社会的产物.如同存在女性歧视一样,社会文化中也存在男性歧视.英语中针对性别歧视语的研究之作屡见不鲜,但极少有人论及针对男性的歧视语.因此本文旨在对英语中折射出来的男性歧视语进行初步的探讨.这个探讨不仅具有语言学意义,而且具有社会学意义,希望它对我们了解并最终克服由语言反应出来的社会文化中的消极面,逐步实现性别和谐,构建人类和谐社会有所借鉴.

Language is the product of society. Anti-male sexism exists in social culture just as anti-female sexism does. The study on sexism in English is numerous, but that on anti-male sexist language is very limited. So the paper alms to have an initial study on anti-male sexist language that English reflects. This tentative study has both linguistic and sociological significance as it serves as a helpful means for us to understand and overcome the negative aspect of the social culture which language reflects, so as to realize the sex concordance gradually and build a harmonious society.
