Debate on the Simplified Chinese Character and Its Original Complex Form

汉字本质上是记录汉语的工具,是符号。简化字不影响中华民族的文化传承和传播。繁体字文化的保护不是只有通过全民使用繁体字才能做到。在简体字使用了半个世纪的今天恢复繁体字,不现实也不可能。这场繁简之争启发我们要注重对民众进行语言文字基础知识的普及教育。

The nature of Chinese character is a tool of recording Chinese language,which is a kind of sign. The simplified Chinese characters can not affect Chinese culture transmission and spreading. And the protection of the original complex form can not be realized by the application of all people. It is not realistic and possible to reuse the original complex form of a simplified Chinese character after using for half centuries. The debate on the simplified Chinese character and its original form enlightens us that we should pay attention to the popular education of all people＇ s rudimentary knowledge on Chinese language and character.
