On the Interpretation of "Liberal Education" from a Multi-dimensional Perspective

摘要 通识教育的研究在我国方兴未艾,概括起来不外乎三个主要方面:本体论研究、本土化研究和实践论研究。其中本体论研究是通识教育的基础理论研究,它是通识教育研究的根本,也是其它两项研究全面展开的基础,通识教育概念的研究更是基础中的基础。除了通识教育外延的模糊性、内涵的多元性、理解的开放性、实施的灵活性以及概念本身的历史变异性等复杂原因给研究带来诸多不便以外,研究方法上的局限也直接影响到研究的进程和结果。文中采用多维论证法,从概念的语素构成、语境生成、语意指向以及外延限量四个维度对通识教育进行了多角度、全方位、分层次、立体化的解析,并得出明确结论,以期引起研究者对此问题的进一步讨论。 The research of liberal education, or general education, is enjoying great popularity in China, and it consists mainly of there aspects: Ontological research, localization research and social practice research. Of the three, the first is the root of liberal education, for it studies its basic ideas, on the basis of which the other two researches can be dealt with in comprehensive ways. The research of the definition of liberal education is the most fundamental one. The vagueness of its denotation, the diversification of its connotation, the openness of its interpretation, the flexibility of its practice and the historical variation in its definition all produce inconvenience in its research, and the limitedness of the researching methods also affects the process and result of the research. In this thesis, a multi-dimensional discussion of liberal education is presented, i.e. from the per spectives of the morpheme constitution in the definition, the generation of context, connotation and the denotation.
