翻译在外语教学中的作用

摘要 在外语教学流派中,除语法翻译法、暗示法和社团语言学习法之外,其他的教学法都认为翻译会阻碍第二语言的习得,主张只用目的语授课。但长期实践的结果表明这些教学法的效果并不尽如人意。外语教学能不能使用翻译是一个值得探讨的问题。综述翻译在各外语教学流派中的角色,结合当今人们对翻译的态度,意图是对翻译在外语教学中应有的作用作初步探讨。 It is believed that translation can interfere the second language learning except those of grammartranslation method, suggestopedia, and community language learning among the approaches and methods of foreign language teaching. They argued that only target language should be used during teaching. However, long-time practice proves that these teaching methods and approaches are not very satisfactory. Whether translation can be made use of in foreign language teaching is also a problem worthy to be explored. This paper is to raise the issue and explore the positive effects based on the review of the role of translation in the main approaches and methods in language teaching, and the analysis of the current opinions about translation.
