GIS is a technique of several synthetical sciences of computer science, geography, topography, cartology, etc, which core is computer science and basic technique is database, map visualized and space analysis. MATLAB is the popular application software and programming language, which can deal with numerical value, visualize the data and program, and is easy to learn and use. This paper briefly introduces the features of the software MATLAB, expounds the techniques of mapping toolbox, database toolbox, GUI and API, and discusses the application of GIS developing base on them.
