Driving Force for the Development of Communications ——Effectiveness and Reliability

本文从现代通信系统的各个环节介绍了人类在不断追求高效通信技术和高可靠性通信系统的矛盾统一过程中，不断发明的新理论和新技术，特别介绍了近几年已实用的或正在实用化过程中的新技术以及目前的重点研究课题，从而说明了这一矛盾的新表现和解决这一矛盾的新途径。

This paper summarizes the new theory and technology discovered in the development of communications in order to reach a perfect unity of systems. The emphasis is laid on some new technology which is being put into practice in recent years as well as the key project at present. All these suggests new contradictory elements between effectiveness and reliability and a new way to solve the contradiction.
