Authors explored the basic principles and technologies of hypertext retrieval systems, analysed the mechanisms and key techniques to implement such systems in the internet environment, gave detailed description of logic structures and technical considerations used in the system design, and then modeled on a library OPAC system, implemented an operational network based hypertext information retrieval system utilizing the internet WWW mechanism.
