Changing traffic conditions and outlook of the city,the Hongqiao integrated transport hub really creates the world miracle.But the real power and influence will break through and beyond the sum of these achievements.A large transport hub will definitely bring surging flow of people in turn will attract logistics,business and capital flows.A well-developed transportation within the region will bring its business thrives.Meanwhile,after nearly the 20 years high-speed sprint,Pudong’s pioneering passion begins to fade.The land and human resources scarce,blocked financing models,rising business cost have become unavoidable constraints.The released data from Shanghai Statistics Bureau shows that in 2008 Shanghai achieves GDP growth of 9.7% over the previous year,which is lower than the national average;GDP growth speed has declined for 5 consecutive years.Shanghai needs another bright spot like Pudong.The bright spot should be reborn in geography out of the east,in concept out of the existing financial and shipping centers.And it will be Shanghai economy’s new booster.And the answer is to go to the west and build an international trade center.
