茂金属聚乙烯是茂金属聚烯烃中发展最快的品种，其发展趋势是向低密度聚乙烯、线形低密度聚乙烯、乙丙橡胶和乙丙三元橡胶的传统应用领域渗透，通用领域应用受到重视，专用领域的应用研究也很活跃。
Matallocene polyethylene is one of the rapidly developing kinds of metallocene polyolefins with the trend toward penetrating into the tradional application fields of LDPE, LLDPE, EPR and EPDM. Great importance is attached to the application in commodity area, so is in the specialty area where it plays an active role.
