孙越崎与焦作工学院

孙越崎不仅是20世纪中国著名的爱国人士、实业家和社会活动家,而且对于近代中国惟一的一所私立工学院——焦作工学院的存亡和发展起到过重要作用。他在担任该校董事会常务校董期间的多次讲演,对学生的成长产生了深远的影响;抗日战争爆发后,他竭力主张将该校转移到抗战后方西北地区继续办学,从而保证了该校的存续;抗战胜利后,他多方呼吁该校复员,促进了该校弦歌不辍;他还在办学经费、联系有关机构接纳该校毕业生等方面支持该校办学,为该校的发展发挥了重要作用。

In the 20th century, Sun Yue-qi was not only the famous patriotic personage, industrialist and social activist of China, but also played an important role for the survival and development of the only private technical college in modern China--the Jiaozuo Engineering ＆ Technology Institutes. He gave speeches for his school many times during taking on the managing school directors of this board of trustee, which had a far-reaching impact on students＇ growth; after Anti-Japanese War broke out, he had advocated transferring the above-mentioned school to the Northwest to continue running, thus guaranteed the storing and continuing of this school. After the war, he called upon this school to recover in many ways, which had promoted the string song of this school not to stop. In order to support this school to run, he has still played an important role in the development of this school in the operating expenses, contacting relevant organizations to accept the graduates.
