＂American Dream＂is not only a typical American social and cultural phenomenon,but also an everlasting topic in American literature.Franklin and Gatsby are both typical representative of ＂American Dream＂,and this thesis intends to discuss some truth of social and personal development from the perspective of the reason for the success of Franklin and the failure of Gatsby.
