Comparative Analysis of the Miserable Destiny of Coonardoo and Sifeng

本文通过对小说《库娜图》中的库娜图及话剧《雷雨》中的四凤的生活背景、人物性格、爱情追求以及命运结局等方面进行对比分析,指出虽然所处不同社会和历史背景,但受制于森严的社会等级制度,女性这个弱势群体,在现实中挣扎却终究不能摆脱殊途同归的悲惨命运。

By comparatively analyzing the backgrounds, characters and the similar destinies of the two leading roles Coonardoo in Australian novel ＂Coonardoo＂ and Sifeng in the classical Chinese play ＂ Thunderstorm＂, this thesis aims to reveal the reality that women--the vulnerable groups, even under different social, historical and cultural background, basically run to the same miserable destiny after useless struggles against the unfair society.
