Mao Zedong's Views on Poetry

诗人毛泽东善于总结诗词创作的经验,并形成毛泽东独特的诗词观。即:诗言志;诗以情胜;诗要用形象思维;诗歌应当风格兼容;对旧诗、新诗持辨证观点;提倡民歌;古为今用,洋为中用;诗歌语言应广纳博取;诗不厌改等九项。

Mao Zedong, as a distinguished poet, summarizes his experiences in poetry creation, and he forms his unique views on poetry, which include nine points ： poetry expresses the will; poetry excels by feeling; visual thinking in poetry ; compatibility in different poetic styles; dialectical view on ancient Chinese poetry and new Chinese poetry; ballads should be advocated; the past shall serve the present, and foreign things shall serve China; different styles of language shall be adopted in poetry; and poetry modification.
