Transformer losses account for high proportions in total losses of power network, so reducing distribution transformer losses is one of the effective energy-saving measures. The paper introduces the structure and energy-saving principle of on-load capacity regulating distribution transformer as well as the economic benefit achieved by applying this type transformer. The paper also forecasts application prospect of this type transformers in rural power network.
