摘要
认知语言学认为隐喻是人们对抽象概念认识和表达的强有力的工具,而非简单的装饰性的辞藻。颜色词在很大程度上是通过建立在人体感知基础上的隐喻表达的。人类对红色有相同的视觉效果和认知基础,因此红色在英汉语言中的感知和反映就具有普遍性。文章借中国汉字文化"红"的词语进行分析,旨在揭示:词义变化的主要原因在于隐喻的强大认知功能,导致语言变化的媒介是隐喻。与此同时,也印证了认知语言学大师莱考夫的隐喻认知观点:语言本质上是认知的,隐喻不仅是一种语言现象,更是人的一种思维方式。
In the view of cognitive linguistics, metaphor, in stead of being taken as a simply decorative device used in rhetorical style, is a powerful linguistic tool for the conceptualization and expression of abstract categories. The color of Red is a basic color in every country. Color words are metaphorically expressed on the basis of human's perception. People have same optic effect and cognitive basis on colors, so it is universal that colors are percept and reflected in Chinese and English. This thesis, on the basis of "red" expressions in Chinese cultures, aims to put forward that the reason for the lexical meanings of a polysemous word is mainly due to the powerful cognitive function of metaphor. In other words, the media for the change of language is metaphor. Meanwhile, this thesis proves the view of metaphorical cognition put forward by great cognitive linguist Lakoff, that is language in essence is cognitive and metaphor is not only a kind of linguistic phenomenon but also a thought of human being.
