Brief Comments on Li Bai Story's Significance in the Tang Fictions

唐代是诗歌繁荣的时代,也是小说兴盛的时代。唐人小说中不乏记述演绎当代诗人之事的作品,其中以李白为主人公或涉及李白的故事有三十则左右。这些小说从生平经历、才艺诗情、声名影响等多侧面多角度地刻画了李白形象,对于扩大李白诗歌的传播、增进读者对李白其人其诗的深入认知、考订相关事实、拓展李白研究及唐代文学研究领域等等,都具有重要的价值意义。

Tang Dynasty is not only a golden age of poems but also a flourishing time of fiction. There are many stories of contemporary poets in Tang novels and about thirty stories are related to Li Bai. Li Bai was characterized by these stories in many different aspects like experience, talent for poems and reputation. These stories have great value in diffusing Li Bai＇s poems, furthering the understanding of Li Bai and his poems, researching the relevant facts, developing the studies of Li Bai and Tang literature.
