To meet the needs of modern urban rail transit with the technical requirements such as high speed, sharp curve, steep slope, a kind of radial truck drived by linear motor is successfully applied to urban elevated rail transit or metro. This article introduces the fundamental theory and the characteristics of the radial truck, points out the distinct advantages in high adherence, curve negotiating, low wear and low noise.
