Agreement and Interaction between the Construction of the Ruling Party and Political Restructuring

发展社会主义民主政治是中国共产党始终不渝的奋斗目标。中国共产党是执政党,在中国政治体制中处于核心地位,这就决定了中国政治体制改革必须选择执政党推动的模式。执政党建设与政治体制改革之间,呈现出政治体制改革有赖于执政党建设推动,执政党建设契合于政治体制改革的显著特点。积极稳妥地推进政治体制改革,必须立足于既有的基本政治制度,把推进党内民主建设作为切入点和突破口。

It is the consistent goal of the CPC to develop socialist democracy. As a ruling party, the CPC occupies a key position in China＇s political structure, which determines that China＇s political restructuring should be pushed forward by the ruling party. It is featured by the fact that political restructuring relies on motivation from the Party＇s construction while the latter conforms to the former. To carry the restructuring further, we should base on existing political systems and start from democracy construction within the Party.
