Theory of Communicative Behavior and Inter-subjectivity in Translation

我们认为必须克服两种极端的译者主体性,即译者主体性遮蔽和译者主体性张扬,以使翻译活动在一种合乎理性的条件下进行。翻译主体性走向翻译主体间性是克服这两种极端译者主体性的有效路径,哈贝马斯的交往行为理论为翻译主体间性的研究提供了理论基础和方法论指导。翻译主体间性能很好地解释翻译活动中译者的主体性的发挥和原作及作者的言语行为的有效性,也使译者和译作的言语行为的有效性得以保证。

We hold the idea that the two extremes of the invisibility of translator＇s subjectivity and the over-visibility of translator＇s subjectivity in translation should be overcome so as to ensure translating under a rational condition. The shift of translator＇s subjectivity study into that of inter-subjectivity study in translation is an effective way to avoid the two extremes. The theory of communicative behavior provides theoretical basis and ontological guide for the study of intersubjectivity in translation. Inter-subjectivity in translation well explains the role of translator＇s subjectivity and the effectiveness of the source text and the speech acts of its writer,and therefore ensures the effectiveness of the target text and the speech acts of the translator.
