Relevance theory of translation plays a significant role in the evaluation and analysis of translations of literature works, especially poetry, translation. This paper aims at studying the function of direct translation, which is a core concept in relevance translation theory,, in the evaluation and analysis of poetry translation through the comparative study of Chun Xiao＇s three versions of translations in the respect of communicative clues.
