This paper summed up the current status of application of digital reference service in the net of forestry and universities of forestry at home and abroad. In the field of forestry, all of the service modes were discussed in the application of forestry. The advantages and shortcomings of the service mode were also discussed. In the end, the development trend of DRS was put forward in forestry, meanwhile, the problems of DRS was discussed.
