书籍设计与印刷工艺关系的研究

On Relationship of Book Design and Print Technology

书籍是艺术与技术相结合的产物。书籍设计是一种"构造学",是指构成书籍形态、材料和制作等方面。其本质是一项整体构想过程。设计对书籍成品而言只完成"施工蓝图",最后必须通过印刷工艺的转换才能称之谓"书"。因此,设计者必须熟悉印刷工艺相关知识,必须遵循印刷工艺的科学规律,才能事半功倍地设计出好作品。

Book is a combined product of art and technology. Book design is a kind of ＂structureology＂ which refers to hook＇s formation, material, making, etc.. And its essence is the whole thinking process. As for the final product of the book, de sign is only working blueprint, the product will be called as book when it has been transformed through print technology. Therefore, designer must be very familiar with the relevant knowledge of the print technology, following the scientific rules of the technology and only in this way, a good work can he designed by getting twice result with half the effort.
