Luxury Consumption and Identity Identification of Gentries in Late Ming Dynasty

摘要 明中期以后,传统的以国家权力和儒家伦理为核心的等级制度受到了商业化的冲击而发生动摇,原来的等级界限在士商共同参与的奢侈性消费中日渐模糊。然而,由于士绅特权的存在和官本位意识的根深蒂固,商人们的消费趋向仍表现为对士绅地位的向往,而没有形成独立的阶级认同,这一趋向决定了晚明时期的社会转型难以获得根本性突破。 After the mid-Ming dynasty,the traditional hierarchical system with national right and Confucian ethics as its core was shaken by the influence of the development of commerce,and the former hierarchical lines faded out in luxury consumptions among the participation of gentries and merchants.However,the consumption of merchants still tended to show favor for the positions as gentries,which made the social transformation of late Ming dynasty impossible.
