Anhui intellectuals is of great importance in the period of mordern history of China. Viewed from the point of regional culturul geography, the distribution of Anhui intellectuals then in the aspects of quantity, density and natural geography has distinct regional characters, of which the most striking is the distribution centre of Anhui intellectuals shifts from the southern mountainous country of Anhui to the plain along Yangzi-River progressively.
