扩招与高等教育质量:一种辨证思考

Enrollment Expansion and Higher Education Quality:A Dialectical Analysis

本文辨证地分析了扩招与高等教育质量之间的关系。认为,从联系的观点看,没有证据显示扩招使我国高等教育的质量出现了全面的、大范围的滑坡;从全面的观点看,我们在看到部分学生培养质量下降的同时,又要看到我国的总体国民素质却上升了,还要看到扩招也有促进教学质量提高的一面;从发展的观点看,伴随着扩招的进程,需要有适应大众化高等教育的新的质量观。

This paper sets out to analyze the relation between enrollment expansion and higher education quality. The author holds that there is no evidence showing that, with enrollment expansion proceeding, the higher education quality has comprehensively declined. Hence, we should indeed notice that, although expanding enrollment may negatively affect the quality of teaching offered to some graduates, it will improve the total national quality of our country due to the fact that enrollment expansion can in a way to promote education quality except for some of its negative effects. With a developing foresight a new concept of high education quality applicable to a massive higher education must be established in line with enrollment expansion.
