Chord是麻省理工学院(MIT)提出的一种基于DHT技术的结构化P2P路由协议,具有完全分布式、负载均衡、可用性及可扩展性好、命名方式灵活等特点,其核心思想就是要解决在P2P应用中遇到的基本问题:如何在P2P网络中找到存有特定数据的节点。

Chord is a structured P2P route agreement which is advanced by Massachusetts Institute of Technology basing DHT technology. It has such characteristics as complete distribution, loading balance, applieability,augmentability,nimble naming way and so on. Its core thought is to solve fundamental problem in application of P2P： how to find node having appointed data in P2P network.
