The Impact of Evangelicals in the Late 18th Century on the Suburbanization

In the late 18th century, the evangelicals in England proposed the thoughts about city, country, family and the position of women, and tried to put the thoughts into practice. Their thoughts and practice not only shocked various classes in English society, but also urged some of the middle class to move to suburbs. This paper analyzes the evangelicals＇ typical thoughts, reviews the early suburbs built by the evangelicals, and finally discusses the impact of the evangelicals in the late 18th century on the suburbanization in England.
