目前存在不同的方法和途径来用用例成功估计工作量。用例点的方法与功能点方法类似已经成为可靠估计方法之一。同时,随着用例建模的方法作为描述软件和系统需求越来越普遍,使用用例的估算方法也变得越来越重要。介绍了用例点的估算方法来估算软件开发项目的规模和工作量。

Use case models are increasingly being used to capture and describe the functional requirements of a software system. There are different approaches and methods to successfully estimate effort using use cases. The use case points method has potential to be a reliable source of estimation, much like the function point method, and it can have a strong impact on estimating the size of software development projects. Also, since use case modeling is increasingly being utilized as the method of choice to describe the software and system requirements, it makes sense to have an estimation method that makes use of them. This paper introduced the use case points method for estimating the size and effort of software development projects.
