Couple Thoughts about Micro-system and Appropriate-scale of Modern Cities and Architecture

超大城市与摩天楼的存在意义,除了历史的宿命外,在某方面也是为了迎合当今世界城市"食物链"的结构需求以及在这样的供需体系中,取得类似进化论"适者生存"的优势地位。但面对当前第三世界普遍要发展超大城市与超高建筑的城市现象,我们应当反思的是城市对居住者的意义何在、上一级城市如何不再剥削下一级城市,弱势城市又如何摆脱"食物链"供应者的角色,而具有多样化小系统的城市与建筑,可以灵活应对突发的变化与危机,转而寻求城市与建筑在生态、社会、法规等层面的自足和互动。

The meaning of mega-cities and skyscrapers is not only the nature result of history, but also to go along with the mega-food-chain system of the modern cities so as to gain the advantage position in the survival competition war. Compares to mega-cities, micro-cities are more flexible while facing all different kind dangers and challenges. Micro-cities can also be seen as appropriate-cities. While all developing countries are fighting to deliver mega-cities and skyscrapers same as the dream of Cinderella, it’s about the time to re-thinking what cities’ meanings for its people.
