随着科学本身的发展以及科学文化社会功能的日益加强,科学文化逐步与人文文化相背离。科学犹如一把双刃剑,当它被善用的时候,它能够创造人间奇迹;当它被恶用的时候,它也使人类生存环境恶化。这就促使我们不断地对科学进行反思,而"第三种文化"的提出正是对这种反思的一种回响。同时,对"第三种文化"的哲学思考就致力科学文化与人文文化研究,推进两种文化和谐会融,促进中国文化"科学发展"具有重要理论和实践意义。
