An Analysis of the Arctic Strategy of Russia

随着全球气候变暖,北极地区冰盖的加速融化使得北极地区的地缘战略地位凸显,对北极的争夺逐渐成为地缘政治竞争中一个比较突出的现象。俄罗斯是北极地区最重要的世界大国,对北极地区拥有得天独厚的地缘优势,在北极有经济、军事、安全等诸多战略利益。俄罗斯为实现这些战略利益采取了政治、科学、军事、经济和法律等多项战略措施。然而,俄罗斯战略利益的实现依然受多种因素的制约:一是世界大国的制约,二是北极地区脆弱的生态环境,三是较高的经济成本。

As global climate getting warmer, the acceleration of ice cap melting in Arctic region makes the geostrategic position of the region much more noticeable. The geopolitical rivalry for the Arctic region has heated up. Russia, which is the most important power in the region, has unique geo -superiority, and economic, military and other strategic interests in the region. In order to achieve these interests, Russia has taken many strategic measures. But some factors, such as other powers, fragile ecological environment, higher economic cost, constraints the achievement of Russia＇s strategic interests.
