Structural Adjustment and Education in Africa

由国际货币基金组织和世界银行推动的"结构调整计划"是20世纪80、90年代非洲经济与教育改革政策环境的一个重要内容。总体而言,这一改革在非洲是失败的。在结构调整期间,许多非洲国家的教育经历了停滞,甚至倒退,不仅没有满足社会经济发展的需要,而且错失了发展的机遇。回顾这段历史,可以获得许多启示。

Structural Adjustment Program driven by IMF and the World Bank was an important part of African economic and educational policy carried out in 1980s and 1990s. The reform, however, failed finally in Africa. Education in many African countries which carried out the Structural Adjustment Program experienced a standstill, or even a retrogression. In those countries, education not only failed to meet the need of social development, but also missed development opportunities.
