皮肤光老化被视为皮肤衰老中不可忽视的一种重要类型。近年来研究表明活性氧簇(ROS)在皮肤光老化过程中起重要作用。使用抗氧化剂清除ROS来防治光老化成为一重要策略。番茄红素是一种具有多种生理活性的类胡萝卜素,也是优良的抗氧化剂。在国外已应用为防晒化妆品的原料。

Skin photoaging is regarded as an important type of skin aging. Recent studies indicate that reactive oxygen species （ROS） plays an important role in skin photoaging process. The use of antioxidants to remove ROS becomes one important strategy of preventing photoaging. Lycopene is one of carotenoids with wide range of physiological activity and excellent antioxidant effect. In foreign countries, it has been applied as an anti-UV cosmetic material.
