The Changes of Tribal Organization in Contemporary Tibet——A Case Study of 12 Tribes Xicang

近年来在甘青川藏族牧区,随着藏传佛教寺院的重建、民间纠纷调解中部落习惯法的运用,在民主改革和社会主义改造过程中,一度被废除的藏区旧的社会基层组织——部落组织不断地得以复兴。它既脱胎于1958年以前在藏区普遍实行的部落制度,又在部落组织结构、部落制度等重要方面因时、因势地发生了变迁。

In recent years, with the rebuilding of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and the use of tribal customary law in the mediation of civil disputes, the old grass-roots organizations of society-tribal groups which were once abolished in the Tibetan pastoral areas of Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan in the process of democratic reform and socialist transformation of Tibet continue to revive. It was born out of tribal system commonly existed in Tibetan area before 1958, meanwhile it also underwent changes in tribal organization structure, tribal system as time went on.
