The author focuses his study on the aesthetic translation of Zhu Guangqian and argues that the unique feature of Zhu Guangqian＇ s aesthetic research and translation practice can be seen in his choice of translation variation as his academic guideline. By combining translation, learning and research, he not only constructed his aesthetic system, but also introduced many western aesthetic classics to the Chinese readers. In the book A Research on the Aesthetic Translation of Zhu Guangqian, the author makes use of such instrumental concepts as translation, translation variation and the unity of language and thought to study the relationship between his aesthetic research and his translation and the role of his translation in the development of Chinese modem aesthetics from a new perspective. The book, with its new ideas and sound argumentation, contributes much to the interdisplinary study between translation and aesthetics.
