以苏州观前街为案例，研究其历史演变，分析其现状，然后详细探讨苏州观东商城从概念规划到单体构思在传统特色保护与物质环境改善方面的主要对策。
The paper takes the Guanqian Street of the Old Suzhou City as a case to study its historical development and present situation. It also discusses the methods of protecting the traditional characteristics and improving the physical environment from the concept planning to architectural schemes of the Guandong Commercial Complex.
