Holy Bible is considered to be the original text in the textual network of western literature from the demension of composing literary text. From the perspective of intertextuality on the diachronic level, there is a great textual chain formed by the texts which continuously absorbed and changed Holy Bible, and on the sychronic level, there is a intertextual group which is formed by the countless texts displayed in one plane and related to Holy Bible. The novel Liar Jacob, the masterpiece of German writer Jurek Becker, is a remarkable link of that intertextual network, its theme, characters, image and motifs have intertextual relationship with Holy Bible.
