马尔罗并不原部就班地展现事物,而是向现实材料施以创造性的想象,他通过"明喻"和"隐喻"的意象手段避免了传统的叙事手法和心理分析,创造了一个自动的、敏感的、讽喻的、视觉性的文学世界,深刻表达了对"人的状况"的思考。一方面,透过人物与环境之间的关联,意象式修辞把文体表达机制和思想精神理念融合在一起,另一方面,层出不穷的意象勾勒了一个感性和理性、抽象和直观并存的网络,读者能真切地体会到人物的恐惧、挫折、欢乐和忧愁。
Rather than showing things in its original way, Malraux adds creative imagination to realistic materials. By applying the imagery device such as "simile" and " metaphor", he avoided the traditional narrative style and mental analysis, and created an automatic, sensitive, allegorical, visual literary world, in which he expressed his profound thinking on "La Condition humaine ( Man' s Fate) ". On the one hand, through the relevance between characters and environment, the image rhetoric combines the expression mechanism of literary form with the ideological and spiritual philosophy. On the other hand, the endless images outline a network where sense and sensibility, abstract and intuition co-exist; from which the readers can have a clear understanding of the characters' fear, frustration, happiness and sorrow.
