关于外国文学史教材编写的几个问题

Some Problems on Compiling Textbooks of the History of Foreign Literature

外国文学史教材的编写在我国已有较长的历史,近30年来更取得了较大的成就。但目前国内通用的几种主要教材,却仍然存在着一些不足之处,如史的意识较为淡薄,忽视对于艺术形式及其演变的描述,在体例安排上有一种"宏大叙事"倾向,未能完全清除庸俗社会学的影响,对某些重要内容有所忽略。进一步明确文学史的任务,更新观念,突破旧有的书写模式,是编写出更为完善的外国文学史教材的必要前提。

There has been a long time of compiling the textbooks of the history of foreign literature in our country. And it is obvious to all the achievements made in the recent 30 years. However, it is a pity that several main textbooks of the history of foreign literature used in China presently leave a few to be desired. For instance, editors pay no enough attention to the developing process of literature in history; the description of the form of art and its developing course are omitted; the writing style tends to be characteristic of grand narration; the influence of stodgy sociology has not been completely cleaned up; and some important contents are omitted. Therefore, the academic world should define the task of the history of literature, change traditional views, and break through old writing models so as to compile better textbooks of the history of foreign literature.
