S1000D规范中所描述的出版物主要是指使用公共数据源数据库的技术出版物,包括纸质文档资料和交互式电子技术出版物,其出版物的管理包含出版物模块、出版物模板编码、出版物构建和出版物的升级等部分。出版物模块主要定义了出版物的内容和结构。出版物模块编码由14～26位字符组成,分为型号识别码、发行授权号、出版物号和卷码4个部分。S1000D中的出版物管理具有较强的适用性,对我国的出版物管理具有借鉴作用。

Publication in S1000D refers to Technical Publications using Common Source Database （CSDB）, includes page-oriented and Interactive Electronic Technical Publications （ITEP）, the publication management contains Publication Module （PM）, Publication Module Code （PMC）, building of publications and updating of publications. PM defines the content and the structure of a publication. PMC comprises 14 to 26 alphanumeric characters, and it can be breakdown into four parts： model identification code, issuing authority, number of the publication, volume number. The application of publication management is perfect, and it can be preferably applied to our country.
