Natural image is an important element in P. B. Shelley＇s poetry. This thesis mainly concerns the relation- ship between the natural images and science, the natural images and ecological awareness, and also the natural images and aesthetics. It finds that Shelley tries to employ his scientific knowledge to the natural image creating, in an attempt to bridge the gap between science and arts. Shelley also breaks the dualism between human beings and nature in the image creating, which shows his ecological awareness. Meanwhile, Shelley attaches great importance to imagination and sublimity as far as nature aesthetics is concerned.
