种子是绝大多数观赏植物的繁殖材料。文章综述了国内在观赏植物的种子采收、贮藏、催芽处理等方面的技术要点以及观赏植物种子休眠的类型和原因。

Most ornamental plants propagate by seeds. The technique and methods for collecting, storing and forcing germination of the seeds are summarized. The reasons and types of the seed dormancy are also described.
