Remarks on Madam Song Meiling's Visit to the United States during the War of Resistance Against Japan

1942年至1943年间宋美龄历时7个月的访美之行,以会见美国政要、发表演讲等方式,就美援、缅战及战后问题与美国达成协议,迫使美国废除了《排华法案》,极大限度地宣传了中国人民的抗战,阐述中国政府和人民的抗日态度和决心,充分展示了她杰出的外交才能,应予充分肯定。

From 1942 to 1943, Madam Song Meiling＇ s visit to the United States lasted for seven months, when she reached agreements with the US on US aid, Burma War and Post War issues by meeting with American political heavyweights and delivering speeches. Song＇ s act forced the U. S. to repeal the ＂Chinese Exclusion Acts＂, enormously took propaganda of Chinese people＇ s anti - Japanese war, clarified the anti-Japanese attitude and determination of Chinese government and People, and fully embodied her outstanding diplomatic abilities, which deserves to be affirmed.
