Mindong goat is the local genetic resource which was found recently in the eastern area of Fujian province, it has wide distribution, stable genetic characters and obvious population characteristics, and it adapts to the natural environment and human environment of eastern Fujian. This paper introduced the habitat, rearing history and current situation, variety characters and so on of Mindang goat, and discussed the measures for the protection of inheritance resources of Mindong goat.
